The Ghost of Lady Marbella

Pedro Tafur Fasce’s deeply personal film marked my second venture as DoP, in what was Campdale Motion’s first international production as we filmed both in Ledbury, UK, and Tossa del Mar, Spain.

The film centres on a
Latin gangster longing for the one thing his money was never able to buy: the love of Lady Marbella.

We decided to lens this project on a hybrid digital and 16mm format. Aside from the inevitable financial considerations, we saw this schism as an apt visual representation of the protagonist’s nostalgic experiences in the film. Pairing these formats with the fast Zeiss Otus primes (digital) and the impressively sharp S16 Canon 6.6-66mm zoom lens (16mm) made for some great footage.

We wrapped on TGOLM less than a month ago. This is the reason for my inability to share more information or footage at this moment. Suffice it to say, watch this space…
